IOS 18 Check the parts and repair history of your iPhone
How to Check Whether an iPhone Has ‘Genuine’ Apple Parts Without Opening It Up
Step-by-Step: Check Parts and Service History
1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
2. Go to General → About.
3. Scroll down to find the Parts and Service History section.
Depending on your iPhone model, you’ll see different parts listed, such as:
* Battery
* Display
* Camera
If a part has been replaced, it will show one of these messages:
* “Genuine Apple Part” : Great news! The part is original.
* “Unknown Part” : Warning! The part may be non-genuine, used from another device, or not working properly.
Note: If your iPhone has never been repaired, you won’t see a Parts and Service History section : that’s a good sign too!

iOS 18 "Used Part" & Paired Components Explained
With iOS 18, if a genuine Apple part from another iPhone is installed, the system will now display “Used” instead of “Unknown Part.”
However, some components are paired and must be calibrated together to function properly. If not, you may experience malfunctions or error messages.
🔹 Screen replacements require pairing with the proximity sensor ribbon / ear ribbon
🔹 Face ID components must match the original logic board.
🔹 Battery replacements need proper calibration to display battery health.
🔹 Camera modules are paired with the LiDAR sensor for depth and focus accuracy.
If a paired component is mismatched or uncalibrated, features like Face ID, Auto-Brightness, or Portrait Mode may not work properly.

iPhone water damage repair
The older your iPhone gets, the higher the risk of water damage due to worn seals over time. The protective seals that ensure water resistance can degrade with age, making the phone more vulnerable to water leakage. This is especially true if the phone has been exposed to heat, drops, or other wear and tear.Additionally, if the seals or protective covers around the charging port, speaker, or SIM card tray get damaged from drops, scratches, or impacts, water could leak into the internal components. It’s important to note that warranties do not cover water damage.
Even though the iPhone 16 has an IP68 water resistance rating, it can still get water damage due to factors like:
-
Worn Seals: Over time, the protective seals can degrade, making the phone more vulnerable.
-
Damaged Seals: Drops or impacts can damage the seals, allowing water in.
-
Saltwater/Chlorine: Salt breaks down rubber gaskets and adhesives much faster than fresh water, quickly reducing water resistance and increasing the risk of future leaks even if the phone appears fine at first.
-
Temperature Extremes: Sudden temperature changes can cause internal condensation, leading to damage.
-
Pressure: high altitude can potentially affect the seal of your iPhone due to lower atmospheric pressure. At higher altitudes, the reduced air pressure could cause the air inside the phone to expand slightly, potentially putting stress on the seals. If these seals are already weakened, the difference in pressure might cause them to fail, allowing moisture or dust to enter the device.
what to do if water seeped inside your iphone
Here’s the updated process:
Turn It Off: Power down the phone immediately to prevent any short circuits.
Remove the Internal Battery: If you’re able to, remove the internal battery. Otherwise, send the phone to us at GizmoFix, and we’ll handle the battery removal and repair process.
Dry the Exterior: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to dry the outside of the phone, including the charging port, speakers, and any openings.
Avoid Charging: Don’t plug in your phone until it’s completely dry. Charging a wet phone can lead to further damage.
Use Silica Gel (Optional): Place the phone in a sealed bag with silica gel packets (not rice) to absorb moisture.
Wait: Leave the phone to dry for at least 24-48 hours before turning it back on.
Check for Functionality: After the drying period, power on the phone and check for any issues. If there are any problems, send it to us at GizmoFix for a professional diagnosis and repair.
If you’re unsure about handling the phone yourself, feel free to bring it to us, and we’ll ensure it’s properly cared for.

iPhone 11 frequently dropping its 4G signal and showing EDGE
A faulty Baseband PMU IC in the logic board is a common issue in the iPhone 11, leading to signal drops due to poor signal amplification.
Why Does the Signal Drop?
The PMU IC is responsible for amplifying and regulating RF (radio frequency) signals. When it malfunctions, the signal weakens, causing:
📶 Frequent signal drops
🚫 “No Service” errors
🔄 Intermittent connectivity
🐌 Slow data speeds
Other Effects of a Faulty PMU IC
Battery drain & overheating
Unstable power distribution to the baseband modem
If your iPhone 11 struggles with weak or lost signals, visit us for a professional repair.

iPhone camera shaking and cannot scan QR code
Why Is Your iPhone Camera Shaking?
A shaking camera on an iPhone is often caused by an Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) malfunction. iPhones from the iPhone 7, X, 11, and up to the 16 series use OIS to stabilize photos and videos. If this mechanism fails, the camera may shake constantly or intermittently, often due to physical damage or external interference.
Common Causes of OIS Failure:
🔹 Physical Impact or Drops – The OIS system uses a gyroscope and small motors to stabilize the lens. Drops, bumps, or even prolonged vibrations (such as mounting the iPhone on a motorcycle for GPS navigation) can damage these delicate components.
🔹 Magnetic Interference – Cases or accessories with magnets (like magnetic mounts or wallets) can interfere with OIS, leading to improper function or long-term damage.
🔹 Wear and Tear – Constant use, especially in video mode, puts strain on the OIS system. Over time, this can reduce performance or cause complete failure.
⚠️ Fake Fixes to Avoid
Some repair shops attempt to fix the issue by adding a magnet to stabilize the camera. However, this disables OIS and autofocus, making the camera unable to focus properly. This is not a real solution and will permanently affect camera quality.
If your iPhone camera is shaking, visit us for a proper repair to restore full functionality!

iPhone back glass replacement
Why Proper Back Glass Repair Matters
Some shops cut corners, risking damage to your iPhone.
The Risks of Fast Repairs:
Battery Not Removed – Direct heat can cause battery swelling, leading to overheating or power issues.
Internal Ribbons Left Inside – Excessive heat may melt cables, causing Face ID, touch, or charging problems.
Laser Removal Risks – Improper laser use can damage internal parts, making repairs more expensive.
✅ Our Safe Method:
We remove the battery & flex cables before heating to prevent damage.
No laser risk – We use a safe removal process to protect your iPhone.
Takes longer but keeps your phone in perfect condition.
If your iPhone’s back glass is cracked, trust a proper repair, not a risky quick fix!

iPhone Charging IC Repair / Cannot turn on
Why Is My iPhone Not Charging After a Battery or Port Replacement?
If your iPhone isn’t charging properly or charges slowly, even after a new battery or charging port, the issue may be with the Charging IC. This small but important part controls the charging system in your iPhone, making sure it gets the right amount of power.
What Is the Charging IC?
The Charging IC (or Tristar/U2 chip) is responsible for handling the charging process and making sure everything works smoothly. In newer iPhones (iPhone 12 and up), this IC works alongside other components in the phone to control power flow.
What Happens When the Charging IC Fails?
If the Charging IC gets damaged, your iPhone may:
* Not charge at all
* Charge slowly or intermittently
* Not turn on despite being plugged in
How Do We Fix It?
At GizmoFix, we replace the damaged Charging IC with the latest version, which is stronger and more reliable, reducing the chance of future problems.
⚡ Important Tip:
Always avoid using cheap or fake chargers, as these can damage the Charging IC and cause issues in the long run!
If your iPhone isn’t charging, bring it to GizmoFix and let us fix it with the right parts to get your phone working like new again!

iPhone 6 / 6 Plus Touch IC Disease Repair
Have you experienced gray bars at the top of your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus screen? Or is the touch unresponsive and not working all together? Or maybe it works sometimes and you have to restart the phone or turn the screen off and on again to get it to do anything.
All of those issues are signs that the iPhone touch ic has failed or is failing. But what causes this? #BENDGATE. The terrible design of the iphone 6 / 6 plus models are at fault. The shape of the housing and soft aluminum material allows the phone to bend very easily which then bends the logic board inside. The ic chip “Meson” U2402 and “Cumulus” U2401 lose continuity with the board and cause the issues listed above.
This is an extremely common problem we find especially on the iPhone 6 Plus.
you can send it in to Gizmofix and let our Certified Microsoldering Technician replace these two ic chips and get your phone back in working order .

iPhone 7 and 7+ Audio IC bootloop repair
Early symptoms include all types of audio-related problems, such as the speaker icon being greyed out during calls and the record button unavailable in Voice Memos. As the problem progresses, users may experience extreme system lag from the touchscreen, and the phone may take a long time to restart anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes, if it ever boots past the Apple logo. In this state, the home button will still cause a ‘click’ vibration from the taptic engine even while the phone does not appear to be fully booted.
This is the latest audio ic bootloop problem . GIve us a call and we will fix for you
